Frontier Town

With its rich history as a stop along the cattle drives of the early West, San Antonio's rugged past takes center stage in Frontier Town. With its covered wagons and rustic windmill, the largest area at NIOSA creates an authentic atmosphere for grazing and two-stepping to Country and Western music. This history-laden "town" even boasts of its own Post Office where visitors can buy and mail a post card with "A Night in Old San Antonio" cancellation stamp. Cowboys and pioneer ladies serve some of the tastiest viddles in town including: Horseshoe Sausage, Texas Bird Legs, Cowboy Klopse (a deep-fried meatball with cheese in a jalapeno batter), and Ranch Steaks.

Proceeds from A Night In Old San Antonio fund the San Antonio Conservation Society’s mission to support restoration and preservation of historic properties, parks, waterways, traditions and the intangible heritage of this multicultural city and its neighboring counties through education, advocacy, grants and preservation projects and programs.
event hours: 5:30PM – 10:30PM. Alcohol Sales Cease at 10:00PM.
