NIOSA would not be possible without dedicated volunteers like
you. Thank you for your continued support to help us maintain NIOSA
as a community oriented festival – a safe, fun-filled event.
In partnership with TABC in 1999 NIOSA produced a videotape that
focuses on special events and festivals. We encourage all volunteers
in an alcohol booth
to view this video tape. We know your time is valuable and in order to make it more
convenient we have put the tape on our website for your viewing. The
video lasts approximately 50 minutes.
This tape will not replace the four-hour TABC certification class
required for booth chairmen, vice chairmen and dedicated front-line
servers.
Dedicated front-line server:
The volunteer who hands the beer or wine to customer after
personally checking the ID
A volunteer who has a current TABC certification
Six (6) TABC Certification classes were scheduled by NIOSA for
Booth Chairmen, Vice Chairmen and front-line servers which were held
at the Society’s Riverhouse.
If you were not able to attend the scheduled classes you may
obtain your certificate on-line. TABC Certification may also be
taken on-line at
www.alamotraining.com. Other websites are also available
online.
Volunteers can also complete the TABC course at the Alamo
Training location at 318 E. Nakoma St. 102, San Antonio, TX 78216.
For a class schedule visit
www.alamotraining.com
After certification is completed you must send a copy of
the certificate to the NIOSA office at 227 S. Presa Street, San
Antonio, TX 78205, with a receipt of payment for reimbursement up to
$20.00 (Please include your full name, address, phone
number, area and booth location where you volunteer).
All on-line certifications must be
completed by March 15, 2010 and copies forwarded to the NIOSA office
before servers work in an alcohol booth.
After reading the NIOSA Policies and viewing the tape, please
forward the completed form below to the NIOSA office.
Let’s make NIOSA safe and fun for our volunteers and patrons.
